Buena Vista Farms, Inc. began as a homestead and cattle farm, in the early part of the century.  Nestor and Teri envisioned lovely grounds with the rolling hills and creek running through the property.  The creek became a lake for paddle boating, and fishing. Two buildings were built in 2006 to accommodate many types of events.  A pergola and gazebo were added with gardens constantly evolving.  All buildings are handicap accessible and are temperature controlled. 

Each year we expand our facilities. In 2008 we opened a Sporting Clay shooting course consisting of 12 stations with 2 presentations each.  Five-stand shooting for a group activity can be set up as well.  For 2009 a 3D archery course was added, allowing us to host a competitive archery contest the first Sunday of each month: May through October.  A 250yard rifle and pistol range was carved out of a ravine and woods in 2010 as well.  Our goal is to become a sportsman’s paradise on the north side of the 150acre grounds. 

The grain bin was converted to a very interesting and rustic office and check in station.  Please feel welcomed to stop in, have coffee or soda and sit to visit over a game of checkers!

Team building events, offering recreational opportunities; is one of our specialties.  Nestor’s experience in Agricultural sales gives him insight to corporate events.  Typically we provide a motivational speaker, luncheon then recreational competition and break out small group meetings.  Companies can expand this to include spouses and a dinner dance in the evening.  We are well prepared with audio-visual equipment, and amplification for all your needs.    

This season, we have added a large, white, Euro peaked tent!  The tent will be up permanently for the event season.  Capacity is up to 400 guests, with complete bar service and access to handicapped accessible, well appointed restrooms in our Cabin building.  Additional tents can be added adjacent to the permanent tent on the landscaped grounds so that any number of guests can be entertained at our facility.

Buena Vista Farms, Inc. has quickly become the destination in Central Illinois for outdoor weddings.  We have hosted brides from Springfield, Virden, Pawnee, Petersburg, Jacksonville, Rushville, and Winchester, encompassing Central Illinois as our customer base.  Weddings at our facility are full service, so it can be a stress free day for the bride and family. We provide all beverages and bar service.  We own many styles of tabletop decorations and backdrops for decorating indoors and outdoors according to your specific preferences and incorporating your unique ideas. Specific caterers at Buena Vista, work together with us to create menus to your liking and budget.  Several DJs, musicians, and bands have performed at Buena Vista.  We will guide you according to your musical and dancing styles. 

Birthday parties, anniversary parties and family reunions are fun at Buena Vista!  We offer several indoor and outdoor games, bond fires and barbeque grills for all types of events.  Our pretty wrought iron portable bar and buffet can be set up for these more informal events.  We have a 12 x 12 tent with scalloped top, corner finials and mosquito netting that can be set up on several locations throughout the property as well.  We are ready to serve you with any type of event that you can imagine!
